Honesty Cookery School
Rachel Grenville-Hunt of Rachel’s Apron revisits the cookery school to pass on her hints and tips for creating the perfect sauces.
Savoury and sweet, sauces can be the focus of a meal, a subtle accent or a sultry topping for a simple dessert.
In this Autumnal class we’ll be focusing on rich comforting sauces; a silky bechamel, a rich chicken jus, and a light crème anglaise. You’ll have the opportunity to choose how to flavour and finish your sauces to your taste. Bring a handful of jars and you’ll have your weekend meal prep completed in a morning!
We will cover some great culinary basics such as making a roux-based sauce, as well as more advanced techniques when making crème anglaise. Whilst making each sauce we’ll focus on the importance of seasoning, a vital and often forgotten aspect to successfully making your sauces tasty enough to tempt you to lick the bowl clean!
