Protein - Rich Pesarattu Cooking Class
Hosted by Sasi Krishnan
Hands - on wholesome Indian cooking Naturally vegan and gluten - free.
Discover the nourishing flavours of Pesarattu, a much - loved South Indian dish from Andhra Pradesh made with whole green gram. Often described as a green gram dosa or savoury crepe, Pesarattu is naturally protein - rich, vegan and gluten - free, requiring no fermentation and making it gentle on digestion and wonderfully suited to everyday family cooking.
In this class, the green gram for Pesarattu will be freshly soaked and ground by Sasi during the session, with the process explained and demonstrated step - by - step. The prepared batter will then be shared so everyone can practise making the dosas together, ensuring hands - on learning and confidence in technique.
Alongside Pesarattu, you will learn comforting Upma, a savoury South Indian preparation made from semolina (also known as Rawa or sooji), and a fresh Coconut Chutney that brings cooling balance and natural sweetness. The meal is completed with a simple brown chickpea salad with carrot, cucumber and tomato, offering raw fibre, freshness and a light crunch on the plate. Onion can be added optionally, depending on preference and balance for the meal.
Taught by Sasi Krishnan, a regular cookery tutor at Honesty Cookery School and an experienced cookery teacher who values simple, nourishing food prepared with intention. As a mum and home - style cook, Sasi naturally advocates cooking from scratch, understanding ingredients, and enjoying dishes that support everyday life in a balanced, practical and comforting way.
For lunch you will enjoy fruits of your labour, accompanied by a delicious glass of wine.
