The Food of Japan
The Food of Japan
Hosted by Sarah Leary
There has to be a good reason for the increasing popularity of Japanese food. Fresh
seasonal ingredients coupled with a strong focus on rich umami flavours and aromatic
spices have firmly established it as a go to favourite. Not only that but it is super healthy too.
Taking influences from China - think ramen, noodles and dumplings and even European
influences with ingredients such as potatoes, peppers and bread being introduced by
Portuguese traders, Japanese cooks have created a raft of dishes in their own unique style.
Our chef will take you on a culinary whistle stop tour with a carefully curated selection of
dishes from this unique country plus plenty of tips and techniques to enable you to channel
your inner “itasan”.
