Step into the sunny kitchens of the Eastern Mediterranean where food is more than a meal – it’s a way of bringing people together. You will prepare a colourful spread of mezze, grains, pastry and vegetables with a dessert inspired by the Eastern Mediterranean region. Join Turkish cookery writer, Ozlem for a hands-on cooking experience where you’ll learn the techniques of layering spices, balancing tangy, sweet and earthy notes, and creating texture through delicious ingredients. 

 You will learn to cook:

  • Vardavit – Cannelloni beans and spiced flatbread croutons with tahini and yoghurt sauce
  • Eksili sogan – Caramelised onions with tangy pomegranate molasses mezze
  • Cilbir - Turkish style poached egg on yoghurt and paprika sumac butter
  • Kunefe – Stretchy cheese filled crisp, sweet and buttery shredded pastry soaked in aromatic syrup finished with pistachio

 

 After the class you will sit down and enjoy fruits of your labour with a tasty glass of wine.
